You're using Groover for music promotion, but let's talk about a super important step which happens before music promotion: digital distribution.

If you're reading this, you're most likely an independent artist wondering how it all works. We're going to explain in a few steps how to distribute your music to all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music etc.) We also have a very cool offer for all Groover artists with one of our partners! (see below)

1. Find a distribution platform

As an independent artist, you have to use a distribution platform to make your track available on Spotify and the other major streaming services.

You can do some research about which distribution platform is the best for your needs and look into the major ones like TuneCore, CD Baby, UnitedMasters, Amuse Distrokid, iMusician... Don't hesitate to check out Spotify's Provider directory for the whole list. They have different ways of functioning: TuneCore and Distrokid offer annual subscriptions for unlimited distribution, while on CD Baby you pay just once per track and it will be distributed forever.

We've built great collaborations with TuneCore (20% off semi-Pro & Pro subscriptions by clicking on this link) & CD Baby, two great options for independent artists. You can find the offers on this page. We also got you a sensational deal on CD Baby's distribution plan for you (see 3. below ⬇️)

Founded in 1998, CD Baby is one of the most trusted distributors of independent music working with more than 1 million artists internationally. They help you distribute, monetize, and promote your music worldwide. You get paid weekly. No annual fees.

2. Looking for an unlimited distribution plan? Explore TuneCore

TuneCore was founded in 2005 and has been a leader in the digital music distribution market ever since. They also provide global distribution to all the biggest platforms and offer both pay-per-release plans or unlimited plans.

We strongly advocate for the unlimited plans if you plan to have several releases in the upcoming years!

Partner offer : start distributing your music and obtain a 20% discount on TuneCore Semi-Pro & Pro subscriptions by clicking on this link.

3. CD Baby to distribute release by release: start by signing up and entering your track's information

To distribute your release (track, EP, album), you'll need:

  • The track file in the required format

  • The artwork

  • The appropriate metadata (information about the writers etc.)

Follow the distributor's instructions to send the track and it'll soon be up on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer etc.)

Here's a walkthrough to distribute your track with CD Baby:

4. Use our CD Baby offer to distribute 1 track for free

All Groover artists get one free CD Baby Standard submission. This is the coupon code to use on CD Baby:

  • GrooverFree – One free Standard submission

And it's not over! Groover users get 40% off all future Standard and Pro submissions. You can use the coupon code Groover40 to get 40% off all your future releases!

That's it! We hope this cool offers with TuneCore and CD Baby will help you distribute even more music, make it available everywhere 🤗
